Where? Commodore Ba;;room
When? Friday, June 17 (tonight!)
Why? Take a trip back to the mid-90s as Moist hits the Commodore for a night of alt-rocking goodness.

 

Christine's Pick

Who? Born Ruffians
Where? Rickshaw Theatre
When? Saturday June 18th
Why? It’s their first headlining tour in almost 3 years, and the Born Ruffians are bringing new music along with them. Always a super fun show.

Who? Rich Hope
Where? Fox Cabaret
When? Saturday June 18th
Why? If you’re looking for an early evening, Rich is doing two shows back to back - first an acoustic one, and then an electric. Best of both worlds and you in bed before 11pm!

Who? Middleditch & Schwartz
Where? The Vogue Theatre
When? Saturday, Feb 15
Why? JFL Northwest is in full swing, and I am beyond disappointed that I am going to be out of town for the pairing of Thomas Middleditch and Ben Schwartz. Watch them do their long-form improv show at the Vogue (and check out the dozens of other JFLNW shows this weekend!)

Who? Lucky Chops
Where? Rickshaw Theatre
When? Saturday Feb 15th!
Why? I saw Lucky Chops in France at a music festival several years ago and they were SO MUCH fun. If you like brass instruments and dancing, this one is for you!

Who? Blonde Diamond
Where? H.R. MacMillan Space Centre (you heard me)
When? Friday, February 14 (why, that’s tonight!)
Why? I can’t think of a better band to be playing a show called “Gravitational Attraction” on Valentines Day. They’re playing TWO sets (of originals and covers) at 7:30 and 9pm, amid a load of other fun stuff at the plane’arium.

Why? The 14th annual Sumner Brothers Xmas extravaganza features over a DOZEN local talent, PLUS… polaroids with Drunk Santa!

Who? Keithmas X
Where? Rickshaw Theatre
When? Saturday December 14th
Why? It’s the 10th anniversary of Keithmas, an annual celebration with Vancouver musicians of Keith Richards (and his birthday). This year will see the likes of Rich Hope, The Pack A.D., Bison, Frankiie, The Wild North, Jody Glenham and more. All raising money for the Vancouver Food Bank!
