The 2016 edition of the Vancouver Fringe Festival is almost upon us, and with so much going on we thought we'd highlight a few of the acts and events we're looking forward to catching. Musicals, comedians, plays and parties, the Fringe Fest should have something for everyone.

What?: The Antagonist
When?: September 9, 10, 11, 13, 16 & 18
Where?: The Cultch
Why?: This play tells the story of the life of a supervillan, you know, the story that Marvel hasn't told you yet! You might recognize lead actor Sean Amsing from various musical acts around Vancouver. Put on your cape and head to the Cultch

What?: I Had Sex Until My Heart Stopped
When?: September 9, 10, 12, 13, 16 & 18
Where?: Studio 16
Why?: Cameron MacLeod is an excellent comic and story teller, and who wouldn't want to hear about awkward sexual escapades that didn't happen to you?!

What?: Give It Up
When?: September 8, 10, 14, 15, 16, & 18
Where?: The Cultch
Why?: If you've never seen this talented woman before, now is a great chance to do so. Morgan Brayton combines real stories and great characters to create an excellent show.

What?: Just Watch Me: A Trudeau Rock Musical
When?: September 9, 10, 11, 14, 16 & 18
Where?: Firehall Arts Centre
Why?: A Trudeau Musical? Do you even need a reason? Apparently it's set both in the present day and during the 1970 October Crisis, so you've got that to go on!

What?: Trump: The Musical!
When?: September 8, 9, 10, 11, 13, 16, 17 & 18
Where?: Carousel Theatre
Why?: Well if you're gonna see the Trudeau musical, you might as well see the Trump one. Listen, I hear it's going to be HUGE. "I don't know what will happen, but it will be interesting." Maybe you'll get fired at the end.

What?: Big Rock Brewery - Fringe Bar
When?: September 8 - 18
Where?: Ocean Art Works - Granville Island
Why?: Free concerts every night down on Granville Island, with DJ's and a bar, you can't go wrong. Some acts include: Wild Romantics, Wooden Horsemen, Adrian Glynn, Jody Glenham, The Nautical Miles, Tonye Aganaba, Hollow Twin, Skye Wallace and more! Keep an eye on the schedule.
