Only caught one show this past week (again)(don't worry, April is going to be crazy), but it was a doozie: We Are The City performing to a PACKED house at the Imperial, with Toronto's HIGHS opening, along with a set by Smash Boom Pow.

The Lido was packed last Saturday for Louise Burns' 7" release show with Jody Glenham. The booze was flowing and the projector aimed at the stage gave the room a moody vibe that fit the tunes perfectly. A wonderful night and escape from the rain outside with a ton of familiar faces from the Vancouver music scene. Congrats Louise!

It was a busy week here in Vancouver; I don't think you could have got away without seeing a show (hopefully it wasn't just the Superbowl halftime show!). Three of my favourite live acts performed last week (Arkells, Yukon Blonde, and The Wet Secrets), and I managed to lose a memory card at the Commodore. If you spot one, let me know, it has photos of Dan Mangan's guest appearance with the Arkells on it!

Jessica also caught some of the fun on camera, at Wooden Horsemen's album release show at the Biltmore on the 14th. Joined by loud, horn-ful guests Camaro '67 and rhythm extraordinaires Kutapira, the night was a sweaty mess of delightful sounds of Latin, funk, soul, and rock'n'roll folded into each other.
